As the Sonoma County Taxpayers Association realizes, the Petaluma wastewater treatment facility at Ellis Creek is built and requirements that payments continue to be made for it are already obligated. It is effective and efficient in processing sewerage to high quality water standards suitable for recycling uses in Petaluma and adjacent areas of Sonoma County.

A prior California Commons provided background about the many reasons Measure U as proposed by a small number of Petaluma voters is yet another example of the dysfunction endemic in California and elsewhere throughout our society of not wanting to pay the costs for services and related infrastructure needed to maintain us. The fact that the entire Petaluma City Council is opposed to Measure U shows that many elected officials are capable of leadership upon important issues which affect us locally, while someone in Sonoma County apparently doesn’t have enough to do, so too much time is spent on Twitter.

No on Measure U is the wise choice for Petaluma voters this fall.
